The land for Alviso Marina County Park was acquired by Santa Clara, CA County in 1974. This park was created in order to provide public access to the San Francisco Bay and to protect the area’s natural resources. Since then, the park has undergone several renovations and additions, including a new parking lot, picnic area, and playground. The most recent renovation was completed in 2013 and added a new restroom facility and ADA-accessible fishing pier.
